After years of experience in the sector and providing a range of products and services including decorative and construction aggregates, sand, recycled materials and other associated products and services to customers throughout the UK, Burlington Aggregates know first hand that getting the right amount of concrete mix can be a difficult task. However, if you’re using a volumetric concrete mixer it can easier than you might think.
But what are the differences and benefits between a volumetric concrete mixer and a more traditional concrete drum/barrel mixer?
When it comes to volumetric mixers and concrete drum/barrels there are a few points you might want to take into consideration before making a decision between the two.
Volumetric mixers mix the concrete onsite, therefore there’s no waste leftover because you will only be able to mix what you require, whereas, drums/barrels mix the concrete offsite, and anything that is not used will go to waste.
Looking at the storage of the concrete mix, volumetric trucks are able to store up to 10m3 of concrete mix, which is up to double the amount of a standard large concrete drum.
